need to able to set "My City" and "My Region" for quick views

This is a request that goes beyond the ability to search a keyword and display a 2D timeline

What I would like to see is actually a playback 'screencast' of the different geos where the keyword has been the most popular,

I'd like to see users be able to search for trending topics by zip code, for even easier identification by region/area.

Add a screen saver mode that animates the trending topics and scrolls around the world as new topics show up

Some are sleeping, so people should be able to see past data for the past 48 hours, so they can drag a button to go back however many hours they wish.

...not everyone lives in America and the real Birmingham is definately in England :D

Would help a lot if the program recognised this, or at least allowed you to manually set the right place rather than using a lot of mouse-movement and risking clicking yourself back to America.

When the info box is in the way of the tags you have to move the whole map to see what's underneath the box.

Allow Twitter users to log in to trends map, and not only check on global trending topics, but also switch to a map that displays friends' twitter posts in real time across the globe.

As I zoom in it should show to me more trend topics .. I think that needs to be done as an improvement

Since we are not all 25 with perfect vision, and do not have the same monitor, the fonts for all the tweets should have a user setting - a free numerical setting nothing hardcoded to "small"/"large" - the whole point of this is lost if we (ie me and others) are unable to read the items.

For example, the number of tweets or ability to save and plot your own keywords

You could use colour to show the change of topic - one for topics that are becoming more popular, and another for topics that are becoming less popular. Allow users to control what time frame the topics change (say, if users look at trendsmap once per day or many times per day).

I don´t like the topics to be overlapping one another

it seems you are tracking the word estonian not estonia. the country name is estonia. on the drop down search you also list tallinn (the capital) thats good, but not the country.

Remove portuguese stop-words so topics will be meaningful here in Brazil. Nowadays you're just displaying "no informational" content.
Suppose it's happening same in Spanish.
