Users won’t be able to add cities – they are determined by tweet volumes (tweet more!!). However, we are currently reviewing the list of cities.

Include Kampala, Uganda to your list please...it has a BIG twitter community!
It's one of the biggest in cities in East Africa and has a huge twitter following, would be great to watch the tweeps appearing across the map!!!

Historical data playback
This is a request that goes beyond the ability to search a keyword and display a 2D timeline
What I would like to see is actually a playback 'screencast' of the different geos where the keyword has been the most popular,

Have historical data for the past 48 hours
Some are sleeping, so people should be able to see past data for the past 48 hours, so they can drag a button to go back however many hours they wish.

Allow users to embed a part of the map (along with central coordinates and zoom level info) into their site.

Show top trending topics at every map zoom level right down to topics trending in specific neighborhoods.
As you zoom in to an area on the map, the trend topics displayed should always be the ones most pertinent to that specific area / zoom level visible on the map. The map should always show the top 10 trending topics for every zoom level pertinent to that specific area. That way we could zoom in and check the top 10 trending topics for our exact street / neighbourhood.

Allow for searches based on Zip Code.
I'd like to see users be able to search for trending topics by zip code, for even easier identification by region/area.

Why can´t I see more trend topics as I zoom in ? And only US has so many...
As I zoom in it should show to me more trend topics .. I think that needs to be done as an improvement

country problem
...not everyone lives in America and the real Birmingham is definately in England :D
Would help a lot if the program recognised this, or at least allowed you to manually set the right place rather than using a lot of mouse-movement and risking clicking yourself back to America.

Allow users to move info box around the screen as desired.
When the info box is in the way of the tags you have to move the whole map to see what's underneath the box.

Allow Twitter Users to Log In
Allow Twitter users to log in to trends map, and not only check on global trending topics, but also switch to a map that displays friends' twitter posts in real time across the globe.

include Port Elizabeth, South Africa as it has a large Twitter community
The Eastern Cape in South Africa only registers East London which is a comparatively small community, while Port Elizabeth is the primary centre and one of the biggest Twitter communities in the country. However, it does not feature in Trendsmap
