The Eastern Cape in South Africa only registers East London which is a comparatively small community, while Port Elizabeth is the primary centre and one of the biggest Twitter communities in the country. However, it does not feature in Trendsmap

You could use colour to show the change of topic - one for topics that are becoming more popular, and another for topics that are becoming less popular. Allow users to control what time frame the topics change (say, if users look at trendsmap once per day or many times per day).

Trendmaps should be able to:

1. approximate my current location thru my pc IP address when I am connected to router or wireless router

2. Let me click on the map to identify my current location and my home location

Since we are not all 25 with perfect vision, and do not have the same monitor, the fonts for all the tweets should have a user setting - a free numerical setting nothing hardcoded to "small"/"large" - the whole point of this is lost if we (ie me and others) are unable to read the items.

If I look for tweet by location I could find UK but I could not find ITALY.
I could find Milan but I could not find Magenta
In Milan map I have colour by tweet (also outside Milan)... should be nice have this features in global map and with more precision... (ideally in order to see a single tweet from a isolated device in countryside)

Your project is wonderful, but even better would be to work with your data and allow developers to be creative.

Halifax Regional Municipality encompasses a large area of a hundred miles. Most #Halifax trends are usually including #Sackville, #Bedford, & #Dartmouth. they should be incorporated in the area map for Halifax as a minimum.
